Bruce Bernard Bio PicBruce possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in sociology from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Drake University. He is a graduate and past board member of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and is a graduate and former trainer for the Move the Mountain Leadership Institute.

Bruce spent his career in public service, most recently with Polk County where he served in various capacities including Organization Development Manager, Assistant County Manager and Director of Facilities and Support Services.

He is active in the Urbandale community serving on the Board of Directors of the Urbandale Community Action Network, Past President of Friends of the Parks and as an advisor to the Public Art Committee. He has been a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission and Library Board. He was named Citizen of the Year for 2013. He is a graduate of Leadership Urbandale.

He currently serves as a consultant to non-profits and local governments specializing in leadership development, strategic planning, project management and organizational development.
