Katie Gieszler joined the City of Urbandale in July of 2014 in her role as Economic Development Specialist. Prior to joining the Urbandale team, she attended graduate school at the University of Iowa in Urban and Regional Planning and in 2010, received her undergraduate degree in Economics from Cornell College in eastern Iowa. She’s held various roles in economic development for local municipalities in Oregon, at the State of Iowa’s Economic Development Authority and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. She is originally from Portland, Oregon, and is passionate about health and wellness. She currently serves as a volunteer at the Urbandale Food Pantry and is Co-Chair of UCAN’s uFit program.
